Job Description

The SRE Chief of Staff has a strong full stack foundation in software engineering and the critical service industry. They must have a proven ability to solve problems permanently, encourage and lead large teams, and an interest in continuous learning and digging deep into specific domains when necessary.

You will join a team of talented software engineers who work directly with product and engineering teams to constantly improve reliability across our public safety products. You will be responsible for the overarching experience that provides observability, fault-tolerant architecture, performance metrics, and system maintenance capabilities. You will nurture a DevOps team culture focused on quality and delivering value to customers. You will be responsible for helping build out the platform, tools, and processes to enable these goals.

Job functions include:

  • Champion for quality and best engineering practices to ensure dynamic and resilient distributed systems that also scale across vertical teams

  • Cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle

  • Participating in design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization

  • Providing technical leadership as a mentor to provide training and guidance across diverse vertical teams to build tools and process that scale

  • Continual research, evaluation, and discussion to understand and integrate emerging software paradigms and frameworks into existing platforms

Required Skills:

  • Experience leading and driving engineering projects from inception to shipped software

  • Deep understanding of risk management and mitigation through design and process

  • Experience with software lifecycle management in traditional and modern systems that includes, but is not limited to deployment, configuration, resilience, and integration

  • Significant experience designing, implementing & supporting highly scalable distributed systems and services on both tradition and cloud platforms in production

  • Extensive experience building and managing observability and signaling systems focused on effective measurement of distributed services

  • Detailed experience with data service implementations that include stateful and stateless system design, implementation, and scaling

  • Ability to communicate thoughtfully, collaborate and build long-term relationships in a cross functional organization

Salary: 200,000-240,000
