The Advanced Materials and Processes (AMP) Process Development Engineer will be responsible for identifying, developing, characterizing, and improving semiconductor unit processes and associated materials to meet program requirements for TI's newest generation of devices. This exciting opportunity often involves bringing in new materials, processes, or equipment to TI for the first time. The job responsibility will be accomplished through direct hands-on development activity in an advanced semiconductor fabrication facility. The engineer will work in a cross-functional team between the Analog Technology Development (ATD) group and a key manufacturing facility, and have significant interactions with equipment and material suppliers, characterization labs, and other groups (test, packaging, product groups). Strong communications skills are a must.

Preferred background/thesis work includes: hands-on research/characterization of chemical or mechanical processes (preferably semiconductor unit process).

Preferred coursework: Semiconductor device physics and processing combined with strong foundation in physics, chemistry, materials science, and/or chemical kinetics/thermodynamics.


Minimum requirements:

  • Masters or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Electical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mechnical Engineering or related engineering degree

  • Cumulative GPA 3.0

- Knowledge/understanding of Semiconductor Manufacturing and Processes

- Ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders critical to success, both internally and externally

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to quickly ramp on new systems and processes

- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results

- Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
