Department Overview
The Services Portfolio Management team is responsible for the strategy, creation, and maintenance of Motorola's Managed and Support services offerings across our global Land Mobile Radio, Consoles, and Private Broadband portfolio. This includes: gathering and prioritizing service and customer requirements; defining the service offer vision and strategy, collaborating with Product and other key work partners to deliver winning service offerings and solutions, and managing the service offer throughout its lifecycle.
Job Description
The Program Manager will be responsible for collaborating closely with the Service Offer Manager to manage the introduction of service offers with an integrated checklist and playbook across cross-functional teams. They will coordinate departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing products or services. They will manage projects from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance.
Responsibilities of the Program Manager include, but are not limited to:
Managing services projects inclusive of new services introduction, new & updated product / releases introduction and XaaS offerings.
Works closely with Service Offer Manager to ensure complete service requirements are understood and obtains project sponsor/stakeholder buy-in for project initiation.
Defines and develops detailed project plans based on the given requirements and scope.
Demonstrates best practices for developing schedules and understands the critical path.
Monitor project execution to ensure all obligations are met and drive projects to completion.
Collaborate with global stakeholders (internal and external) to resolve conflicts and drive successful delivery of projects.
Manages expectations of project sponsor and stakeholder with timely communication/escalation of risks/issues, their impact, and mitigation/corrective actions.
Recommends corrective actions and implements change.
Identifies and mitigates project risks. Owns resolution to any dependency or issue not being delivered by appropriate party.
Ensure all project documentation is completed and kept in the appropriate storage.
Familiar with waterfall and agile development methodologies and their associated quality assurance methods.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar is preferred.
3+ years of Project Management experience, preferably with experience in Service Implementation, Telecommunications, Radio Communications, or Aerospace/Defense preferred.
Demonstrated competency with a project management tool (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet)
Demonstrated competency with office tools (e.g. MS Office and Google Suite) and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence
Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary.
Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with internal and external business/technical teams.
Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
Highly organized, structured, and process oriented; team building skills a plus.
Able to simplify a complex situation and provide updates accordingly.
Experience in video security or cybersecurity is desirable
Certified PMP preferred and Agile/Scrum Certification an advantage
