Operations is one of four services–the others are Accenture Song, Technology and Strategy & Consulting

The Payroll Tax Accountant will work under various levels of supervision participating and/or leading some projects. You will focus in any of the following Shared Services disciplines: payroll, tax support, system applications, employee service center and HRIS, etc. You will also handle bank-reconciliation including check deposits and escheatment for US & Canada Payroll. Responsible for accurate & timely release of US, Canada & Puerto Rico general ledger booking files to SAP. Process $500M+ manual wire payments annually to 3rd Party Vendors thru SAP and address any funding/reporting issues. Reconcile 20+ ledger accounts (Health Savings Account, 401K, Employee Loan Program, Various Benefit Plans, etc.), analyze variances, submit vouchers in SAP, update Blackline & co-ordinate with different business units to resolve. Perform other payroll accounting related activities as required for US Domestic, Puerto Rico, Canada, Guam, Bermuda-Locals & International Assignees.

What you'll do:

  • Banking Activities: Handle check deposits, over-payments pension payments, manual wires to employees & vendors, etc. Track banking activities and ensure timely update in Workday

  • Business & Finance Teams Globally: Analyze & resolve ledger inquiries, handle g/l mapping issues and process vendor payments/reporting for US & Int’l Assignee payroll

  • Month & Quarter End Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll bank accounts and various g/l withholding accounts. Submit escheatment. Identify g/l account variances & process entries in SAP & update Accounting System-Blackline

  • Day-to-Day Accounting Activities: Perform gross-to-net balancing of g/l files for US & Canada Payroll. Prepare bank-reconciliation documents for management sign-off & IAD. Ensure accurate & timely release of g/l files for booking in SAP

  • Projects: Payroll-Accounting related projects

  • Support various payroll tax activities

This role is remote within the US.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll tax

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Workday Payroll/Taxation for US, Canada & Puerto Rico

  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent Accounting Applications

  • Proven experience in HR Shared Services

  • Strong Excel skills required - handle large worksheets, pivot tables, V Look-up, etc.

  • Manage projects and work independently to resolve day-to-day Payroll Accounting issues

  • Payroll Certification FPC or CPP desired

  • Associate degree

  • Ability to work independently, take ownership and manage ongoing responsibilities

  • Multitask & perform under high pressure environment

  • Experience working in a fast changing environment

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
