Desktop Engineer

As a Desktop Engineer at Capital One, you will be a key interconnect between our vulnerability management team and application delivery team. You will need to interface with multiple security teams along with a variety of reporting platforms to ingest and decipher data that translates into actionable solutions for operations and engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with end users as needed to investigate/remediate vulnerabilities and other deployments where automated solutions have failed.

  • Provide L3 escalation support to L1&2 Technicians.

  • Leverage internal and external APIs where possible to action data in real time.

  • Identify vulnerability related false positives.

  • Translate vulnerability and security findings into actionable remediation plans

  • Work with security teams to ensure vendor fixes are escalated appropriately.

  • Handle the liaison between Application Delivery operational team, Cyber, and third-party vendors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering.

  • At least 6 years of experience with Windows 10 or earlier operations systems administration.

  • At least 5 years experience in endpoint management technologies (packaging, deployment or patching experience).

  • At least 2 years of experience creating automated solutions to remediate desktop vulnerabilities.

  • At least 2 years of experience with PowerShell.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering.

  • 3 years of experience with PowerShell.

  • Experience with vulnerability management reporting tools and resolving inconsistencies.

  • Ability to research technical issues and assess patch/config applicability.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
