Job Purpose:
Scout for, evaluate, and execute high-value drug product in-licensing deals and portfolio expansion deals for Region International markets aligned to Regional and Global Business Development strategy. Manage assigned alliance relationships.
Accountabilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Support development of Regional Business Development strategy in collaboration with Head BD&L, Portfolio and Launches, SIR, Head Portfolio SIR, Country Heads, and local BD&L organizations to ensure alignment and high-quality execution of deals and contracts.
• Pro-actively scout for, identify, and evaluate potential partners and new product opportunities through all key BD deal types, incl. but not limited to product distribution, in-licensing, and out-licensing, co- and out-promotion, acquisitions, and divestments.
• Develop business case, financial evaluation, and communication materials, plus, drive efficient deal process progression through governance steps. Document and communicate the strategic fit, deal KPIs, key risks, mitigation, and implementation strategy.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment and high-quality due diligence applicable internal policies and guidelines, involving stakeholders (e.g., Portfolio, ComOps, Regulatory, Quality, Legal, Intellectual Property, TechOps, Finance, etc.).
• Initiate and lead negotiations with potential 3rd party development, license, and supply partners to implement opportunities identified, optimizing deal type, timelines, and other agreement conditions, to improve deal value and probability of success for Region International and Sandoz globally.
• Ensure all key contractual terms and provisions in the final negotiated agreement, follow the Global Legal guidance (based on the LSA template and LSA Q&A effective at the time of signature), any risks identified in Due Diligence are addressed; any gaps or deviations are detailed, communicated, and aligned in accordance.
• Ensure all deals are carried out according to Global Business Development processes and guidelines.
• Provide support to local BD&L staff in designated markets (Latin America or other within Regional International) plus oversight of ongoing activities and adherence to guidance within the capacity, outlook, and directive defined by the manager.
• Track and provide regular and comprehensive reporting on activities under established reporting policies and manager’s requests.
