Role Value Proposition

  • Single point of contact for all of Robert Bosch’s Disability Service questions, issues or concerns
  • Responsible for the expedient management and resolution of customer-initiated claim escalations, inquiries, or claim processing questions while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Associate will ideally be onsite with Robert Bosch as part of a hybrid schedule. Associate will be an extension of the Robert Bosch HR Service Team, learning about their culture and processes while acting as a liaison with the MetLife Disability Claim Team. Associate will epitomize the Robert Bosch HR Service motto: We care. We understand. We resolve.


Key Responsibilities

Single point of contact for Robert Bosch in supporting Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and Leave of Absence programs:

  • Support daily operations and administration of Disability and Leave of Absence claims
  1. Clarify claim statuses and action items by coordinating multiple internal Bosch stakeholders involved: HR Business Partners (HRBP), Associate Relations, Managers and Associates
  2. Provide advice on additional actions that need to occur to resolve inquiries
  3. Claim reporting support by maintaining associate data in the payroll system to ensure associate is paid properly. Notify time administrators and payroll appropriately
  4. Respond to questions from the MetLife claim team to assist with claim processing late certifications and verifying FMLA eligibility
  5. Be able to explain rationale for claim decisions
  • Interact directly with associates, internal and external stakeholders
  1. Utilize MetLife systems to clarify open questions about terminations, dates of leave or return to work
  2. Provide clarification on inconsistency of dates
  3. Research complex claim scenarios and recommend the appropriate next actions for resolution utilizing all system and personnel resources available including HRBP, Robert Bosch Associate Relations and external legal advisors
  • Utilize Disability expertise to partner with Robert Bosch on improving current processes
  1. Leverage industry and Disability process knowledge to provide recommendations for potential service and process improvements.
  2. Identify trends, provide analysis to Robert Bosch and MetLife team with recommendations
  • Investigate and resolve customer questions and concerns
  1. Maintain a log of all inquiries to allow tracking of volume and type of inquiry
  2. Help Robert Bosch to understand root cause and trend analysis of inquiries. Assist with development of individual claim resolution action plans.
  3. Summarize individual claim data to identify overarching process changes focused on improving claimant satisfaction, processing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Act as a customer advocate for Robert Bosch associates
    1. Listen to understand the associate’s concerns to be able to anticipate additional questions associates may have.
    2. Provide proactive approach to issue resolution
    3. Leverage relationships within Robert Bosch and MetLife while using appropriate systems to quickly resolve questions
    4. Research claim status and return to work date prior to processing payments to prevent overpayments


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of Disability claims management experience

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of Disability claims management experience and knowledge in LTD/STD or FMLA claims, including knowledge of other Employee Benefit programs (e.g., Workers Compensation, Life Insurance) and relative Federal and State Laws.
  • Strong Continuous Process Improvement mindset and Intellectual Curiosity
  • Ability to prioritize high volume of inquiries with varying deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of current processes and technology at MetLife
  • Demonstrate computer skills to operate effectively (e.g. MS Office, SAP and internal Bosch HR IT systems)
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer relation skills
