Job Summary

Comcast Effectv is establishing a data governance practice that recognizes data as an asset and we are currently looking for a Data Governance Analyst to ensure that all critical data of the organization is managed by relevant industry and regulatory standards. Under the guidance of the Data Governance Manager, the Data Governance Analyst should be skilled at managing efficiency in people, processes, & technology and enable our organization to utilize different kinds of data by ensuring that the data is clean, valid, trustworthy, and secure. Serving as a liaison between both internal and external technical and business groups, the Data Governance Analyst should bring positive results by governing the methods used by data stewards, engineers, analysts, and scientists in handling data.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and improve user guides, procedures, and other documentation to improve communication and understanding of the data governance platform.

  • Lead and execute data governance activities and initiatives in alignment with the Data Governance Program.

  • Partner with data stewards and other subject matter experts to curate and govern terms and other assets in the business glossary.

  • Establish and maintain metadata standards, ensuring consistent and accurate documentation of data assets, data lineage, and data definitions.

  • Partner with data stewards and other subject matter experts to ingest, classify, and categorize metadata based on sensitivity and establish criteria to protect sensitive information.

  • Maintain and improve the data quality framework to ensure alignment with the Data Quality Program Policy.

  • Drive improvements to data governance policies, standards, processes, and documentation through collaboration with team members.

  • Assist with the establishment of KPIs, metrics, and measurements to monitor data quality.

  • Advocate and articulate the value of data governance while providing education and training to the enterprise community, including data stewards and data consumers.

  • Develop, implement, and communicate record retention/archiving requirements.

  • Perform periodic reviews to ensure continued compliance with all Data Governance policies.

  • Follow Change Management practices during maintenance of data within a data collection.

  • Perform Data Quality checks to ensure safe, accurate, and controlled sourcing, transport, access, and storage of data within their applications.

  • Provide process recommendations via documentation to automate and operationalize analysis.

  • Recommends improvements to Data Governance Standards and interpretation of data by sales, business development, product and executive committees.

  • Requires knowledge of the customer's mission and technology used to accomplish a given task.

  • Develops, maintains and reports all relevant product, site and customer metrics and applies findings to develop appropriate goals and projections.

  • Trains others throughout the organization in using key analytical and forecasting tools and statistical analysis.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.

National Pay Range: $61,606.41 USD-$144,390.03 USD

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
