Department OverviewService Delivery Operations is the IT operations team of Managed and Support Services. Our mission is to support our partners (Global Call Centers, Network Operations Center, Secure Operations Center, Federal Operations Center, etc.) as well as providing support for our external customers to ensure their infrastructure and systems are operating as expected. We deliver solutions to the public safety sector.
The group is committed to providing technology and tools which will allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. We provide a comprehensive, end to end public safety solution. The Motorola Solutions' provided content is focused on a suite of integrated solutions, including a Push To Talk (PTT) Solution, Public Safety Messaging Solution, and Public Safety Mapping Solution. These applications work to provide real-time, actionable, and analyzable data to public safety entities.
Job Description
This System Engineer for our SaaS platform is responsible for the following:
- Team member for a medium size team
- The primary focus of this position will be in a support capacity, and the candidate should be familiar with ITIL methodologies.
- Maintain mission-critical applications on a cloud-native microservices architecture.
- Act as a subject matter expert for microservices integration platforms and related technologies
- Review systems documentation, monitoring data and trends, corporate knowledge base, and recommend immediate and permanent problems remediation and resolution using automation where possible.
- Create and maintain procedures and standards
- Follow the change management procedures and policies
- Work collaboratively with multiple agile teams
- Respond to trouble-tickets via an internal application and/or phone reports.
- Sustain and improve the process of knowledge sharing within the team
- Have on-call responsibilities in rotation within the team
Qualifications:
- Must Be US Citizen to get access into FED Environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent discipline
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure architecture patterns and practices
- Proficiency with MSFT Azure and/or AWS Compute and Platform services
- Good understanding / background of infrastructure concepts and administration (Linux or Windows, DNS, Network, Firewalls and Security)
- Experience in Microservices, Containerization and clustering (Kubernetes)
- Understand and/or experience using ITIL methodology
- Knowledge of SDLC/Agile practices and tools - CI/CD pipeline, automated testing, code reviews, Jenkins, Jira, etc
- Drive towards automating repetitive tasks (e.g. scripting via Powershell, Bash, Python, etc)
- Experience working with automation tooling
- Kibana, Elastic Search and PowerShell knowledge would be a plus.
- Self-motivated, team player who demonstrates initiative and flexibility.
- Self organized, ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and guidance
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies through self-learning
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
