Software Engineering Manager - Program Analysis

We can secure. We must secure. We will secure.Meta's Product Security team is responsible for the security of every piece of code across Meta's entire family of applications. We achieve this by detecting, fixing and preventing security flaws across our codebase. The Program Analysis team is responsible for the “detection” bucket of our work. We do this by building systems and infrastructure that enable static and dynamic analysis at Meta scale. We seek an Engineering Manager to support people within the Program Analysis organization. In this role, you will interact with all parts of the codebase and the company in the goal of eliminating entire categories of security flaws at their root and prevent them from happening ever again. Furthermore, we have found that our tools are broadly useful for other things as well! As such, the manager of this team should have a strong software engineering background. It helps, but is not a requirement, to enjoy building systems like static analyzers and the corresponding infrastructure. A manager will coach the team on navigating incoming requests to maximize team satisfaction and global impact.

• Support, grow, and lead a team of software engineers within the Program Analysis organization
• Coach the team on navigating incoming requests to maximize team satisfaction and global impact
• Manage the best software engineers in the world, including helping to hire and grow the team
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the engineers on the team
• Support performance management process to recognize high performance and support those who are struggling
• Develop strong relationships and work cross-functionally with many partners across organizations and functions, and as a result, increase the impact of the team’s work

Minumum Qualification

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8+ years of work experience in software or security engineering, including 3+ years of proven hands-on technical management experience of software engineers and software engineering managers
• Experience providing technical leadership and guidance, and thinking strategically and analytically to solve problems

Preferred Qualification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with security-related projects
• Exposure to performing scalable security work
