Financial Analyst - Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
Position is hybrid, based in NYC office.
Position Description:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports for
senior management, operational finance, FP&A and parent company and perform
financial analysis to provide insight and decision support for various company
operations.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of key operational and financial performance measures, such as revenue, profit and cash and prepare monthly reports for senior management and parent company.
- Develop and maintain monthly profit and loss reporting and forecast.
- Prepare quarterly reports for parent company, including current company risk, claims, and other financial metrics.
- Analyze project risk and set up and adjust provisions at headquarters level to review with Risk and Senior Management teams.
- Collaborate with Financial Managers, Controllers, and Senior Management to assemble and analyze data for reports.
- Identify and communicate trends, variances, and abnormalities and underlying drivers to stakeholders.
- Perform financial analysis and transform and combine data to create analysis-ready data models.
- Take active role in streamlining and improving department standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Contribute financial information to annual profit plan development and for external audit team.
- Prepare and assess monthly write-down report; analyze profit centers for potential write ups/ downs.
- Participate in month-end and year-end processes, include confirmation of actuals, review needs for top-down adjustments, run month end reports.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement strategies to enhance automation workflow and enhanced reporting capabilities.
- Optimize operating and financial reporting to generate actionable insights to drive financial performance improvement.
- Coordinate with sales teams to generate sales monthly reports.
- Communicate and assist stakeholder understanding of proforma, journal entries, general ledger codes, and ledger costs.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field, and minimum of 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Pursuing and/or graduate of MBA program in Finance or related field, desirable
- Construction industry experience, preferred
- Extensive knowledge of Accounting Principles and GAAP
- Good understanding of financial reporting concepts including revenue and cost recognition, earnings recognition, overhead expenses, and cash
- Ability to communicate to financial and non-financial audiences, and tailor communications appropriately
- Analytic ability to review and assess financial data, interpret trends, and recognize inconsistencies
- Independently apply critical thinking to manage through complex decisions and judgments
- Ability to perform cost analysis and organized for maximum efficiency
- Ability to analyze, organize, and evaluate substantial amounts of data in short periods of time
- Ability to analyze complex projects into manageable tasks
- Display actions related to profitability and risk management and effectively communicates risk issues
- Interpersonal skills and professional, clear, and concise written and verbal communication with efficient presentation delivery
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion with ability to identify problems and initiate corrective action
- Ability to manage multiple activities, requests, and short-cycle deadlines simultaneously
- Proficient computer skills, financial system applications, Microsoft Office suite of applications with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and experience with business intelligence software (e.g., PowerBI)
- Knowledge of programming software, desired (e.g., SQL, Python, R, DAX)

The salary range for New York City candidates for this position is estimated to be $100,000 to $115,000 annualized.
