Principal Systems Administrator (ITEMS UDS - Research TO)

We are seeking highly motivated Principal System Administrators with a thirst for learning, in support of a geographically dispersed, state of the art systems build on a foundation of Microsoft services. Candidates with proven depth creating system solutions will be positioned for success in our organization. Experience with the design, deployment and management of Microsoft cloud solutions would be a differentiator. The selected candidate will design, build and deploy, and administer large scale multi-domain enterprise environments.

Responsibilities:

• Join a team that administers approximately 270 Windows workstations across three security levels in the NGA Research department
• Supervise accounts management, Active Directory modifications, virtual machine management, basic High-Performance Computing (HPC) administration, troubleshooting network problems, and the maintenance of Domain Naming Service (DNS)
• Responsible for the full lifecycle of hardware, to include managing and disposal of equipment
• Retrieve and remove media and courier between facilities
• Manage mobile assets in 5 different locations, maintain monthly security updates on loaned out equipment
• Author Standard Operating Procedures to train component personnel
• Perform fault isolation on Sun Solaris workstations and servers
• Maintain network connectivity for exploitation and dissemination of intelligence imagery from various sources
• Perform maintenance on server and storage hardware components, to include cable management

The Principal Systems Administrator is instrumental in providing comprehensive system administration, from analysis of mission needs to the verification of system performance. You will have the opportunity to perform evaluations of system alternatives, assessing the risks and costs to solve some of the world's most complex IT challenges.

Note: Must be able to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills Education and Experience:

• HS Diploma / GED & 8 yrs, Associates & 6 yrs, Bachelors & 2 yrs, or Masters
• BA/BS (or equivalent experience) plus 8+ years of experience
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification
• Deep understanding of Microsoft Exchange 2016 & 2019 structure to include: database structure; mail routing and related protocols
• Architectural understanding of M365 security constructs and data protections such as DLP, RMS/IRM, Azure Information Protection
• Experience managing Office 365 using PowerShell
• Experience with SCCM design and implementation options
• Experience with Group Policy Management
• Experience with Windows DNS and DHCP
• Experience with Windows Server 2016 & 2019
• Experience and strong understanding of File and Storage Services, to include Distributed File System (DFS) Replication and Namespace management
• Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages
• Experience building/managing servers in the AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment is desired.
• Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
• System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift/move/carry equipment as necessary (max 40 pounds)

Clearance Requirement:
TS/SCI Required. Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Must have Security+ ce or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 30 days of hire.
Bachelor's and the following years' experience:

• 8+ yrs

• Experience in the imagery intelligence domain is a plus
• Ability to create and modify scripts in multiple disciplines on Windows systems
• Knowledge of the Customer's processes and procedures and of the Customer's production systems a plus
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to function as a team member and independently
• General knowledge of database administration, network administration and possess network configuration management skills
