Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Mission Engineer to perform as a SME for Analytics Service Applications User Engagement. The candidate should have experience with full development cycle systems engineering skills, and at least 10 years of system requirements analysis, design, and test experience to join a multi-teammate distributed agile program. This is a hands-on technical role on a multi-disciplinary Agile team. This candidate will lead and execute a campaign plan to obtain wide spread adoption of a new system bringing emerging analytic capabilities to the DOD and Intelligence Community, serve as the voice of the mission user as part of the development management team, work with all Stakeholders to support prioritization of new product features and capabilities within the Agile backlog, proactively engage development agile teams to ensure understanding of the mission user experience, and drive intuitiveness and simplicity into user interfaces through a Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Government contracting in GEOINT and experience working on-site with customers and end users in DoD or Intelligence Community. The development environment follows the SAFE methodology, culminating in delivery to an operational environment. This position will require support of customer meetings and operational system deployment and support activities.

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a technical related field
  • System’s Engineering experience (at least 10 years)
  • Must hold an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance in the near future
  • Five years GEOINT mission domain experience in the IC or DoD
  • Five years hands-on experience in the use of data analytics
  • Experience in applying Activity-Based Intelligence principles and methods
  • Experience working in agile development programs at the team, program or solution level managing capability epics, features and stories
  • Three years of experience working requirements management in an agile program
  • Ability to innovate, evaluate and research new technologies while staying abreast of industry trends
  • Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Able to deliver in agile sprint cycles
  • The ability to engage constructively with peers and technical lead to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisions
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Understanding and application of modern software development and systems engineering practices, design principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Highly motivated and able to work well in both team and solo settings
  • Excellent team player who is willing to contribute in any capacity
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Open System Architecture design within iterative delivery model
  • Model Based Engineering
  • Full Life-Cycle Systems Engineering Development experience
  • Experience in obtaining wide spread adoption of a new analytic capability within a user community
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NSG and ASG community
  • Familiarity in writing CONOPs documents to describe customer issues and problem areas
  • Experience with Enterprise solutions
  • Understanding of Agile Development software practices
  • Ability to write Whitepapers describing technologies and value to the mission
  • Understanding of the Value Proposition creation process to develop Win Themes, Differentiators and Messaging to customers
  • Understanding of the Business Development and Opportunity Qualification process
  • Experience in Capture Management process (i.e. Proposal Development)
