Gibbs & Cox, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leidos is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Model Based Systems Engineer. As a senior member of an interdisciplinary team, As a senior member of an interdisciplinary team, you will apply a Model Based Systems Engineering methodology to a broad range of manned and unmanned ship projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide a range of systems engineering and analysis activities, including requirements development and review, review of performance analyses, test planning support, support for scenario development, review of pre-test predictions, participation in (or review of) studies and analyses, and other such shipboard auxiliary systems engineering and analysis tasking.
Apply systems engineering methods and tools in the development of shipboard auxiliary support systems.
Review technical artifacts including concept white papers, technical reports, requirements documents, specifications, change requests and design review packages.
Conducting engineering analysis to support design integration and resolution of emergent issues.
Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems.
Basic Qualifications
BS or Advanced Degree in Engineering or Related Discipline or equivalent education in Systems Engineering.
8(+) Years of Systems Engineering Experience, two of which must be directly related to Model-Based Systems Engineering.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Work independently (with moderate supervision), or on project teams.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
An Active Secret Clearance is Required.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating models in CAMEO System Modeler
Experience with US Navy ship designs.
Experience working in large team environments & interfacing with highly technical points of contact for component systems / subsystems
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and project unknowns/ambiguity
