Senior Supply Chain Engineering Planner
Job Description
The Supply Chain Planner (SCP) is the focal point for all supply chainactivities. The planner develops andimplements long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacityissues, production location decisions, etc. in support of business growth andsustainment. The planner supports execution of programs and coordination of newprogram / product launches. SCP monitorskey performance indicators, analyzes performance data, and coordinatescross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chaininitiatives.
The Supply Chain Planner optimizes how supply chain management interfaceswith ERP System and manufacturing systems. SCP will plan, prepare, issueand control material requirements in conjunction with the Engineering developmentrequirements. Planner will support riskmanagement activities impacting the value chain working with cross-functionalteams. The planner ensures thatshipments are accomplished to maintain contract/internal delivery commitments.SCP will utilize system and process tools to achieve program / functionalgoals. The position requires that thePlanner works closely with Engineering to support development material needsand provides status to Engineering Management as required.
As a senior planner, this position requires that the individual possess astrong understanding of procurement and planning process steps; the individualmust be capable of troubleshooting process failures to ensure success for theprogram. Candidate will be expected to train and mentor junior levelsupply chain team members. This position relies on experience and judgment toorganize, plan, and accomplish department objectives with a wide degree ofcreativity, continuous improvement approach, and latitude expected to fulfill avariety of duties.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills- Planning experience in engineering development programs and a multifaceted electronic manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with defense aerospace industry & regulations
- Significant ERP System Experience (Oracle, SAP, Other), inclusive of shop floor control systems
- Knowledge of Manufacturing processes
- Ability to differentiate between engineering deliverables and non-deliverables.
- Sales & Operations Experience / knowledge
- Inventory / stockroom management
- Project Management experience
- Ability to verbally and accurately report engineering material/build or production status to program team or factory team
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Create presentation materials and give presentations to leadership team, production team, and customers.
- Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Ability to analyze, react, and train on exceptions in MRP, especially around Bills of Material, Material Planning, Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders and ECOs
- Strong sense of urgency and follow-through from design to product delivery
- Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Higher level education completed or in process
