The Leidos Innovation Center (LInC) is seeking, an Optical Engineer to join our growing, high-performance sensors research team in the development and application of advanced sensing technologies in Dayton, Ohio.

The Challenge:
- Setup and characterize a wide variety of laboratory optical and other test equipment
- Work closely with other lab members on daily tasks of collecting data, processing it, and documenting results
- Develop software (e.g., algorithms, performance models, etc.) and hardware (e.g. lab equipment, breadboard, etc.) solutions as needed to support analysis
- Design simple mechanical systems & fixtures to support experimentation.
What Sets You Apart:
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
- BS in physics or engineering with 4 years’ experience, MS with 2 years’ experience
- Experience in one or more of the following: systems design, performance modeling, hardware characterization, test & evaluation, rapid prototyping
You’ll really WOW us having one or more of the following:
- Active Top-Secret clearance
- Experience developing both software and hardware
- Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, and various programming languages
- Experience with image processing
- Understanding and experience with CAD modeling
- Experience with scientific instrumentation and data analysis
- Experience working with the Air Force Research Laboratory

Pay Range:
Pay Range $63,050.00 - $97,000.00 - $130,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
