Peripheral Equipment Operator
Description
This Peripheral Equipment Operator (PEO) position is responsible for the logistical management of IT equipment under the direction of the center NEST Logistics Manager and Center Operations Manager (COM). In this logistics position, the candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate management of IT equipment that directly supports computer operations on the NASA End-user Services & Technologies (NEST) program. Examples of such equipment will include laptops, desktops, peripherals, and all other IT equipment that is orderable on the approved NASA catalog. The timeliness and accuracy referred to in this description is key to successful execution of this position and necessary for continued employment. This requisition will be used to hire PEO’s for all NASA centers as deemed necessary. This position will require the ability to unpack, pick up, and carry packages and materials up to 40lbs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Physically unpacking new equipment and packaging old equipment for removal
- Ensure the timely and accurate transactional updates in Costpoint and controlling variances in the inventory system of record, etc., as directed by the center Logistics Manager
- Accurately and efficiently entering received hardware within ServiceNow and CostPoint
- Support the preparation and imaging of new computer hardware
- Sanitization of returned equipment to be disposed
- Ensuring all Service Level Agreements are met to meet the requirements of the program
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Experience providing IT support in a large organization
- ServiceNow and CostPoint experience
- Attention to detail is a must
- Self-motivation is a must
- Ability to work efficiently with accuracy and meet demanding timelines is a must for successfully executing the requirements for this position
- Ability to maintain a basic security clearance
