The Leidos Military and Veterans Health Solutions Operation has an opening for a Full Stack Software Engineer/Developer to join the Force Health Analytics Department at the Naval Health Research Center. This is a unique opportunity to use your experience to make work with a team of researchers and make an impact on the health of military personnel.

This position is a 6 month assignment with the possibility of long term extension.

The Full Stack Software Engineer/Developer will conduct computer programming, documenting, managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications for the Operational Readiness Directorate at the Naval Health Research Center customer site in San Diego, CA.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications meeting technical, consumer, and customer needs

• Create servers and databases for functionality

• Implement new features and bug fixes

• Work with QA engineers to test and deploy web applications

• Work effectively with other engineers to ensure that systems are scalable, reliable, and secure

• Work with product managers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications

• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in web development

• Effectively communicate with peers, project leads, and the government customer in performance of program efforts.

• Work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives which impact operational results and project deliverables for the Operational Readiness Directorate and Force Health Analytics Department.

• Ensure tasks are completed on time for mission requirements.

• Assist other technical staff with tasks as needed for customer mission.

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for unique individuals who:

• Have completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US university, or international university of equivalent standard, in computer science or a related field.

• Have at least five years of experience in full stack development.

• Demonstrate strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JSON, and JavaScript

• Demonstrate experience with at least one back-end programming language, such as Python, Java, PHP, C#.

• Demonstrate experience with at least one database, such as MSSQL, MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Demonstrate experience with version control systems, such as Git.

• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

• Are a self-starter, act on objectives in an independent manner

• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with all members of team and organization.

• Demonstrate excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills and an ability to work cooperatively in a team setting. This includes flexibility in responding to changing demands, timelines, and priorities.

• Hold US Citizenship and are able to obtain and maintain a SECRET government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

You will really wow us if you:

• Have demonstrated experience with JavaScript frameworks React, Angular, or Vue.js

• Have demonstrated experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

• Have demonstrated experience with security best practices

• Hold an active Interim or Secret security clearance.
