Job Summary
This position is a direct report to the IT Group Product Manager. The Solution Architect is responsible for the design of technology solutions in support of core business functions by evaluating end user needs, client goals, budgets and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards.
This position provides:
• Effective communication of IT activities, processes and solutions within the IT department
• Solution Architect for IT, ensuring project delivery exceeds customer needs and expectations
• Strategic communication which drives IT & Business adoption and usage of technology resulting in increased benefit realization, value creation, and the achievement of ROI.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities are:
• Responsible for developing solution architecture framework to support product solutions for core business functions, such as the cloud enabled Data Lake and warehouse design, ensuring alignment with other products as well as the overall IT enterprise.
• Provide leadership, oversight and guidance for data analytics solutions and development, serving as an expert on technical capabilities. Provide vision; define system and application architecture, problem anticipation and problem solving ability across the landscape.
• Design, document and maintain system processes, report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team. Establish a deep understanding of our customers’ business and technical needs and communicating key insights and findings to product team.Provide deep software/hardware technical architecture expertise to ensure proper solution design.
• Align and support with strategic direction of broader IT organization. Provide insight to the strategic vision/plans/roadmap and identify key innovative technologies and product enhancements that improves customer experience and simplify current landscape.
• Responsible for establishing strong partnerships with vendors with clear expectations. This includes negotiating agreements, establishing service level agreements, and ensuring contracts are in place to support the product needs.
• Facilitate and coordinate external benchmarking/best practice efforts and relationships with other business organizations
• Provide specific contributions as directed by Product Leader
Job Specific Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Business Administration with a concentration in one of the mentioned disciplines and a minimum of 4 years of professional experience within the information technology field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise.
• Proven experience with AWS cloud platform solutions
• Proven experience and knowledge of Python and Pyspark software languages
• Knowledge of new, emerging technologies
• Strong experience with aligning project solutions to overall corporate enterprise architecture
• Experience in a team lead role through projects and other work planning experiences
• Work and communicate with a wide range of people – peers, vendors, staff members, broader functional and business leadership, and others. Consistently demonstrate professional, positive, and approachable attitude, demeanor and discretion
• Ability to proactively communicate technical topics in a clear, succinct, and relevant way.
• Demonstrated ability to perform assigned work proficiently
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with external constituent groups and customers
Desired Qualifications:
• Advanced degree, e.g. Masters of Information Technology
• Discipline Certifications (i.e Technical certifications, AWS)
• Strong leadership and influence skills. Ability to work through issues independently with successful outcomes
• Proactively identify key features, capabilities and areas of improvements needed within the products
• Excellent teamwork, facilitation, relationship building, and negotiation skills.
