Contract Negotiator

Summary:

In this role, you will be a lead strategic sourcing resource, dedicated to delivering best in class contracting strategies and expertise that result in supply chain cost reductions. You will accomplish this by contributing to opportunity identification, strategy building, contract development, negotiations, communications, and documentation. You will develop a customer-specific contract strategy to reduce spending and craft savings solutions, improve operational efficiencies, maximize delivered value and ultimately achieve a higher level of member satisfaction by becoming a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities:

• Understand core sourcing processes including market research.

• Administer new and existing contracts through the complete contract life cycle.

• Strong negotiation, oral and written communication, and redlining skills.

• Formulate a clear vision and articulate steps to achieve the contract strategy and negotiation objectives for the assigned category.

• Collaborate with the Service Line Director and stakeholders to ensure requirements are defined for incorporation into the contract document.

• Negotiate member specific terms and conditions while maintaining best price.

• Work independently with minimum supervision and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

• Relevant degree preferred; advanced degree a plus.

• 2 or more years’ relevant experience working in contracting, contract management required.

• Ability to effectively present information in a summary fashion utilizing Microsoft tools required.

• Health care contracting background with experience in successful contract negotiations preferred.

• Must possess strong relationship-building and strategic partnering skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to travel.
