The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is one of the world's most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. The primary purpose of the position is to provide aid in handling irradiation machines, perform dosimetric measurements, and 3D printing. The research projects involve investigation of the ultra-high dose rate (FLASH) response on normal and tumor tissues. Particularly, the successful applicant will contribute to the day-to-day operations of the linear accelerators capable of delivering ultra-high dose rates. The successful applicant will also provide responsible technical assistance in other research projects and assist in maintaining efficient functioning of the laboratory. Applicants who also have previous experience with cell and animal handling are preferred.
The position requires both scientific and technical background, independent decision making, judgment and organizational skills.

Follow manufacturer's guidelines regarding the handling and maintenance of all lab equipment.
Have working knowledge of equipment operation manuals and procedure manuals whenever necessary.
Monitor work flow as it pertains to the need for supplies, equipment maintenance, and preparing stock solutions.
Develop, record, and maintain a central repository of plasmids, bacteria, and adenovirus, using stocks developed by each lab member.
Data gathering and analysis
Maintain accurate, detailed records and experimental data and protocols.
Prepare graphs, slides and tables via photography, computer, or manually.
Able to work with database, graphing and word processing computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, GraphPad.
Develop a step-by-step written procedure outlining the specific actions required to conduct the experiment before proceeding.

Participates in lab meetings and presents data when necessary.
Required: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
Required: Two years experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
