The primary purpose of the Program Manager is to develop and administer a virtual writing center, teach and design writing education courses, lead teams of writing and publishing subject experts, and to provide expertise in the development of an in-person writing center to improve scientific communication in all forms.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Writing center -
Develop a virtual writing center program writing center. Consult in the design and service development of an in-person writing center. Schedule and host virtual writing consultations with individuals and teams. Provide constructive feedback to improve scientific communication in all forms. Deliver online tutorials and workshops to instruct authors in all stages of research and scientific communication. Develop and lead a community of practice to facilitate engagement of learners with writing content and their peers. Develop and assess key performance indicators to continuously measure and improve these services.

Instructional design -
Lead teams of writing and publishing subject experts to define learning objectives, create instructional materials, and design content that meets learners' needs. Create visual, audio, and interactive learning content that optimizes learning. Integrate content with institutional learning management systems and web-based platforms.

Scientific English classes -
Design and deliver engaging classes to improve communication of scientific writing and speaking for non-native English-speaking authors and researchers. Provide communication consultations to trainees and researchers to improve the delivery of professional presentations with a focus on scientific conferences.

Education
Required:
Bachelor's degree.

Experience
Required:
Five years related experience to include three years program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.
