The Engineering and Building Systems Management (EBSM) Energy & Utility Programs team is seeking a commissioning professional to act as Facilities Management's owner representative for all commissioning efforts on new construction and large renovation projects. Candidates should share our passion for pursuing targets above codes, aggressive energy performance goals, and reliable operation while bridging the gaps between as-designed, as-built, and operational performance. Experience performing energy audits and retro-commissioning of various building and system types is preferred.

SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Energy Consultant position in EBSM is to provide professional engineering design and construction administration services, as well as, technical expertise related to remodeling, renovation, new construction and equipment replacement projects.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Identify energy saving opportunities of HVAC systems Identify energy saving opportunities of HVAC systems throughout UTMDACC sites. Participate as the Division's representative to the institution's Energy Management Team.

Develop optimized control algorithms Develop optimized control algorithms and provide other guidance to improve HVAC system energy performance. Perform troubleshooting on control systems. HVAC and Central Plant equipment. Provide preliminary lead or support commissioning of new buildings or renovations prior to move-in. Owner's monitoring of commissioning process and performances. Technical support for acceptance of finished new construction and renovations.

Coordination of Energy Conservation Programs Coordination of energy conservation programs within the division.

Other duties as assigned

Required: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field. Five years engineering design experience with an emphasis on the design of facility systems.

Preferred: Master's Level Degree. Five years of healthcare or research design experience.

Certification: Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), State of Texas within 180 days of job entry.
