Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for
meeting all Head Start Performance Standards and State's Child Development
Division (CDD) regulations for Venice Family Clinic's Early Head Start Program's
Family Child Care and Center Based option. You will also be responsible for the program's
State CDD child care contract.

The preferred candidate must
maintain confidentiality and must use discretion and confidentiality with matters of families and program as
appropriate. Int his role, you must establish
and maintain a relationship of trust with Early Head Start families, must establish
and maintain professional boundaries with parents when handling program
and personal issues. You will have weekly supervision meetings to classroom to discuss, environment, lesson plans, observations, coordination of EHS services and regulations. You will also collect cleaning schedules and weekly lesson plans and work with CDA Adviser to ensure teachers obtain CDA credential.

Qualifications

  • BA
    degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field.
    MA - Strongly preferred
  • State
    Program Director permit - Preferred
  • Administrative
    experience with child care programs serving infants and toddlers - Preferred
  • Administrative
    experience of managing State Child Care grant in California - Preferred
  • Knowledge
    and experience with EHS Center Based option - Preferred
  • Knowledge
    of local and state health, safety and licensing regulations for child care
    facilities - Preferred
  • Prior
    Head Start or Early Head Start experience and knowledge of its performance
    standards - Preferred
  • Effective
    oral and written communication skills - Preferred
  • Excellent
    computer skills including work experience with databases & creating
    Excel spreadsheets - Preferred
  • Experience
    working with low-income families. Strong commitment to the field of child
    and family development services - Preferred
  • Demonstrated
    skills necessary for reporting, monitoring and compliance - Preferred
  • Ability
    to convey ideas and communicate effectively often in the form of public
    speaking/presentation skills - Preferred
  • Bilingual
    (Spanish-English) language skills - Preferred.
