Responsibilities

We are seeking an
experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our COVID testing laboratory team! Under general
supervision the Laboratory Manager will independently perform a wide variety of
technical procedures including performing clinical laboratory tests, preparing
reagents, performing quality control and calibration for test systems,
maintaining and repairing laboratory equipment, processing specimens,
performing data entry, and phlebotomy. Assist with oversight of the proficiency
testing program for the laboratory section including PT survey handling,
analysis, reporting, reviewing and monitoring.

Review quality control records and perform investigation and corrective action
for omissions or incorrect QC data. Develop validation plans and perform
equipment, software and/or test method validation.

Qualifications

Required:* Experience in biology, microbiology or related area. * Experience in cell culture procedures. * Ability to perform gel electrophoresis. * Ability to perform RNA analysis. * Experience tissue culture, cell maintenance type work as well as cell proliferation assays. * Skills in isolation of biological materials, (DNA, RNA and protein) from tissues and cell lines as well as the cataloging and management of resources. * Knowledge of accepted analytical practices, weighing, solution preparation, calculations, etc. * Knowledge of medical terminology (anatomy, medical conditions, symptoms, test methods, treatment). * Knowledge of highly complex analytical procedures used in a hospital laboratory (CLIA test categorization). * Clinical Laboratory Scientist licensure required.
