Behavioral Health Specialist-Venice
Responsibilities
Venice Family Clinic isa community health center whose mission is 'To provide quality primary health
care to people in need.' Venice Family Clinic cares for over 28,000 low-income
patients in over 120,000 visits annually who might otherwise go without
critically needed health care services. Venice Family Clinic has eleven
clinical sites with over 350 staff, 1,700 volunteers, and a budget of $50
million. We provide high quality, comprehensive primary and specialty health
care, dental, mental health, substance use treatment and child development
services to underserved individuals and families on the Westside of Los
Angeles.
Responsible for Head Start
Performance Standards for Mental Health,, you will identify possible functions of behavior, which aids in appropriate
classroom, individual and home interventions. You will provide ongoing support, education and strategies to
parents, teachers, home visitors and managers to assist the mental health of
the child and family. Qualifications
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and
Regulations - Proven knowledge of Child Development for Infants
and Toddlers - Proven knowledge of family dynamics
- Knowledge of Child [Register to View]
- Skills in maintaining confidential, detailed notes
in database - Required. - Must be able to maintain a safe environment for up
to 8 children, this includes but is not limited to the physical ability to
evacuate children and parents during disaster drills and emergency situation - Ability to detail oriented reporting with
accuracy - Ability to exercise professional judgment in
evaluating before making decisions and maintain all information in strict - Two to five years' experience in counseling
and early childhood education in a Head Start setting, preferably Early Head
Start. - Computer proficient with
Microsoft office and ChildPlus.net.
