You will abstract and code medical information from records of cancer patients in compliance with the California Cancer Registry (CCR), Surveillance, Epidemiology and End-Results (SEER), California Cancer Surveillance Program (CSP) of Los Angeles County, and the UCLA Cancer Registry, and the Commission on Cancer. This position has the potential to work remotely. You will:

Abstract clinical and pathological information
Enter information into computerized Cancer Registry database (CNEXT)
Assign the appropriate accession/sequence number to each reportable case
Assign the appropriate SEER Summary stage, EDO Stage, and TNM stage
Read and review clinical information and medical record documents
Obtain and verify clinical information to abstract into the cancer database
Abstract treatment information to ensure case completion
Abstract information with a high degree of accuracy (less than 3% error rate)
Meet or exceed productivity standards
Review dermatology, pathology, diagnostic indexes, autopsy reports, death certificates, bone marrow, etc. to determine reportability of cases
Enter reportable identified cases into Cancer Registry suspension file

Qualifications

We're seeking a highly-motivated professional with:
* Bachelor's degree preferred
* CTR Certification with 5 year abstracting experience
* Computer proficiency with CNEXT, EPIC, and Microsoft Office
* CoC experience preferred
