Responsibilities

The Semel Institute for
Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time Trainer to join
the UCLA Division of Population Behavioral Health. You will provide training to
mental health professionals, educators, medical teams, and other
child/family-serving professionals at contract, collaborator, and partner
organizations across the US. Primary duties include:

  • Providing ongoing consultation
  • Promoting quality assurance through monitoring fidelity to evidence based interventions, including the FOCUS model
  • Assisting in ongoing development and production of training and web-based materials
  • Providing consultation to interventionists and leadership at partner organizations
Qualifications

Advanced degree in a mental health related field (MA, PsyD, PhD or
EdD) (preferred)
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (preferred)
Knowledge of manualized psycho-educational training programs and
evidence-based interventions
Experience training mental health professionals, educators, and
medical providers
Experience in assisting with educational materials development for
dissemination
Experience working with children and families
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Ability to support trainees at a distance (via web-based and
telephonic consultation)
Ability to operate personal computers
Ability to work flexible hours
Must have valid driver's license, auto insurance, and access to an
automobile or reliable source of transportation
Willingness to travel to partner organization to deliver training
both nationally and internationally.
Ability to communicate complex information to people with varying
levels of education and training and different learning styles
Proficiency Microsoft Office applications including Outlook,
Excel, and Power Point
Skill in keeping accurate records with demonstrated attention to detail .
Skill in developing rapport with individuals from diverse ethnic
and cultural backgrounds
