Responsibilities

In this role, you will support research
in the areas of developmental and stem cell biology. Responsibilities include
cell culture of mammalian cell lines including human fibroblasts and human
pluripotent stem cells, numerous reprogramming experiments from fibroblasts to
induced pluripotent stem cells, the characterization of resulting induced
pluripotent stem cell lines and of the reprogramming processes, banking and
organization of cell lines, the interrogation of the reprogramming process with
genomics approaches including ChIP-seq, single cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq,
Cut&Run and Cut&Tag and other methods as needed. The work will also
involve basic molecular biology approaches such as cloning of plasmids,
preparation of buffers and solutions, RT-PCR, immunostaining, RNA FISH and
immunoblotting, and the keeping of weekly summaries of experiments and cell
lines. Additionally, duties include managing the interaction with collaborating
laboratories to coordinate sample collection for various multi-omics approaches
and the processing and analysis of resulting genomics data.Qualifications

Required:

  • Working skills with basic molecular biology laboratory equipment
  • Ability to perform several tasks at once, communicate clearly and work in a team environment. Ability to learn new methods and protocols.
  • Must be responsible and able to work independently, without close supervision
  • Knowledge of PC computers, spreadsheet and word processing programs
  • Ability to perform basic technical duties such as logging in reagents and data analysis
  • Basic programming skills

Preferred:

  • BS in Molecular Biology or related field
  • General knowledge of cell and molecular biology
  • Knowledge of cell culture, immunostaining, immunoblotting, and cloning is highly desirable
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting and conducting research
  • Previous experience in managing basic laboratory safety protocols highly desirable
  • Ability to analyze genomics data
  • Ability to organize many cell lines and manage a large number of data collection points
