Responsibilities

Venice Family Clinic is a community health center whose
mission is 'To provide quality primary health care to people in need.' Venice
Family Clinic cares for over 27,000 low-income patients in over 120,000 visits
annually who might otherwise go without critically needed health care services.
Venice Family Clinic has fourteen locations with over 420 staff, 1,300
volunteers, and a budget of $70 million. We provide high quality, comprehensive
primary and specialty health care, dental, mental health, substance use
treatment and child development services to underserved individuals and
families on the Westside of Los Angeles.

In this role, you will operate
as first contact for health insurance clients through phone and/or drop-in
services and provide support for the data management of VFC's Health Insurance
Enrollment Program. You will be responsible for entering and maintaining
accurate data, file retrieval and assist with reporting.

Qualifications

  • Computer knowledge
    including ability to work with database and word processing -Required.
  • Ability to keep accurate
    records -Required.
  • Ability to file
    alphabetically and numerically accurately -Required.
  • Interpersonal skills to
    interact effectively with staff and volunteers -Required.
  • Ability to work with
    sensitive information and maintain confidentiality -Required.
  • Ability to perform duties
    even with frequent interruptions and /or distractions including the ability
    to respond to changing priorities and deadlines -Required.
  • Oral and written Spanish
    skills -Required.
  • Desire to work with
    individuals from diverse ethnic, educational and socioeconomic backgrounds -Required.
  • Strong
    communication skills, particularly dealing with telephone conversations -Required.
  • Strong customer service
    skills -Required.
  • Demonstrated work experience in high volume office setting -Required.
  • Demonstrated work experience in a community based health
    clinic -Required.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings on an as needed basis -Required.
  • Ability to provide coverage at multiple sites (Rose, Pico, RLHC and
    CHC) on a weekly basis -Required.
