Research Nurse
Responsibilities
The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a research nurse to join the lab. Primary responsibilities include: Under the supervision of a research pharmacologists with physician oversight, the nurse will administer research protocols to assure compliance with IRB- approved study designs. The nurse is active in research at every stage. S/he conducts telephone interviews with prospective research participants, coordinates schedules of volunteers with those of research (physician , psychologists, research assistants) and clinical personnel, oversees the completion of research questionnaires, establishes and maintains rapport with volunteers, and monitors compliance with all aspects of the studies. The nurse maintains source documents, case report forms, and data books in compliance with FDA regulations and may perform preliminary data analysis. The nurse also places and removes intravenous lines to draw blood, performs electrocardiograms, and monitors vital signs. The nurse will be expected to attend weekly team meetings and become ACLS certified if s/he isn't already. Includes project coordination , research activities and administration.

California RN license, required
Minimum of 2 years' research experience, required
