Staff Research Associate I-ObGyn & Urology
Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated employee who will serve as a Research Assistant for the Department of Ob/Gyn in the Afshar Lab. You will be involved in a translational research project with continuous guidance. Primary duties include:
- Interfacing and assisting with patient consenting
- Scheduling for studies, sample collection, biobanking, and tissue isolation
- Assist with lab flow duties, as it pertains to ordering and equipment maintenancy
- Interfacing with laboratory personnel, hospital and clinical personnel and other University departments as needed
- Other research duties as assigned
Basic science bench experience
Knowledge of laboratory equipment and safety
Ability to handle sensitive & confidential information
Advanced skill and knowledge of computer applications
Ability to setup and maintain filing system and office supplies
Excellent skill in verbal and written communication
Skill in working with disparate faculty
Ability to be self-motivated, minimal supervision, handle multi-tasks and prioritize workload
Knowledge of UCLA Policies and procedures (preferred)
