Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Clinical duties may include taking and recording
vital signs and medical histories, and preparing patients for
examination.
Prepares
biopsy patients for provider by reviewing current medications including blood
thinners/allergies and pertinent medical history in the medical record and with
the patient.
Prepares
procedure consents and explains breast procedures to the patient in detail.
Sets
up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately and assists provider in
examination/procedure.
Holds
manual pressure post biopsy, cleans and applies bandage to incision site, and
reviews post-procedure instructions with patient.
Assists
in placing tissue exam orders after biopsy - once protocol is established*
Reviews
daily breast diagnostic and procedure schedule, retrieves prior images in
Hologic and prints prior reports as needed.
Assistance
with preparing for multidisciplinary clinic and tumor boards including
compiling outside images and reports.
Reviews
requests for biopsy and localizations on non-UCLA patients, discusses with
radiologists, and coordinates scheduling.
Assist
in the clinic supporting all modalities for IV starts and room turn over and
set up.

Qualifications

Required Licences and certifications:

LVN

State IV & Phlebotomy

BLS/CPR

Abilities and Skills:

At least 6 months of experience as an LVN in the current position or has relevant clinical experience

Knowledge of basic computer fundamentals
Ability to speak clearly and distinctly using appropriate English vocabulary and grammar
Ability to understand oral and written directives
Ability to read and write Standard English text
Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
Demonstrates an understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations
Ability to organize and prioritized work to complete assignments in a timely manner
Candidate must have IV Certification
Recent Clinical Acute care experience.
Procedural experience Preferred
