Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the administrative functions within the
department of Nutrition. Responsible for inventory and requisitioning office supplies. Additionally, responsibilities include
assisting and supporting employees that work in the department and complying
with standards set forth by the university. Input data from a variety of
documents as related to employee records, licensing and compliance.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Demonstrated skill in PC operation and use of Microsoft Office
    products including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly in person and over the
    telephone, using appropriate grammar and vocabulary in order to
    effectively communicate, share and obtain information with persons from
    diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds
  • Skill in listening perceptively, conveying awareness and
    responding to staff and visitors using tact and discretion
  • Skill in performing with frequent interruptions and/or
    distractions including the ability to accept equivocal circumstance and
    respond to changing priorities and deadlines while practicing CICARE
  • Skill in typing to prepare forms and correspondence with accuracy
  • Skill in advanced organization to ensure a workable, efficient
    office including organizing schedules, maintaining director's appointment
    calendar and electronic and paper records and files, etc.
  • Knowledge of university policies, practices and procedures,
    regulations
  • Ability to read and write correspondence and reports of a business
    nature using good grammar, punctuation and syntax
  • Ability to work as part of a team and be flexible according to
    demands of department
  • Ability to interact appropriately, diplomatically and
    sympathetically and congenially with employees, staff and patients
  • Ability to deal with confidential information with discretion

Preferred

  • Knowledge of UCLA purchasing systems including EMPAC
  • Knowledge of Cornerstone
