The Role at a Glance:

This position will support modeling and advanced pricing and risk analytics for index annuities and traditional variable annuities. You will design/ develop innovative modeling solutions to determine key drivers and assess impacts to profitability and risk metrics for deeper insights. You will communicate results to stakeholders. You will be involved in various analyses relating to changes in investment options, hedging strategies, regulatory/ accounting requirements, various assumptions, and more. This position offers high visibility to management. Candidates will be supported to gain a deep understanding of our annuity product portfolio, modeling, and model governance process.

As part of the rotational Actuarial Development Program, competitive exam support will be provided to the candidate, including study hours, paid exam fees, and raises for successful attempts.

What you'll be doing:
  • Model Governance – Review new products or features, think through possible modeling approaches, implement the products or features into the model, reconcile the work with previous quantifications, and verify the results. Advance modeling infrastructure, design and implement modeling solutions as needed to support analysis of complex actuarial issues and strategic initiatives.
  • Actuarial/ Technical Support – Maintain existing actuarial models and tools. Assist others with model questions or troubleshooting (includes both mechanical and conceptual questions). Represent Annuity pricing in cross-functional risk management initiatives.
  • Process Improvements – Working through models and programs to rebuild pieces to be in line with best practices.
  • Pricing Documentation – Carefully prepare written history of the conceptual decision-making process behind modeling approaches taken and the alternatives considered.
What we’re looking for:


  • 2+ years of actuarial experience
  • 3+ actuarial exams passed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent, motivated, and collaborative
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and development


  • Experience with annuity products and actuarial modeling
  • Experience with VBA, Python, GGY AXIS, and/or Tableau
