The Role at a Glance:

This is a project-based role with the Annuity and Retirement Plan Services Valuation and Modeling team. The position will play an integral role collaborating with key stakeholders to provide research and analysis, develop and implement solutions, and provide ongoing support for key projects related to capital management strategies and other strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience across traditional fixed and variable annuities, fixed indexed annuities, registered index-linked annuities and across both individual and group business segments. Additionally, the candidate will be familiar with reserve and capital regulations, cash flow testing and asset-liability management modeling methodologies and strategies and possess an innovative mindset.

This position will provide exposure to MG-ALFA/GGY-AXIS, Dataiku, Tableau and other software essential to our processes. This is a great opportunity to learn about and add value to Lincoln’s business as well as develop valuable skills and knowledge that are transferrable to future projects and

What you'll be doing:
  • Research and Analysis: Leading research, modeling, and analysis in support of various strategic projects that directly impact capital management and business strategy in the Annuity and Retirement Plan Services space. Understanding key business drivers, evaluating risks, and effectively communicating findings to key stakeholders.
  • Reserve and Capital Reporting: Collaborating with internal/external stakeholders on development and implementation of reporting tools, methods, and analytics to support ongoing reserve and capital management monitoring and reporting.
  • Relationship Building: Collaborating with individuals across key stakeholder groups including Corporate Finance and Actuarial teams, Market Risk Management, Pricing, and Enterprise Risk Management to develop insights into critical areas of focus across a variety of market environments and other drivers of interest.
  • Project Leadership: Providing leadership on strategic projects, proactively identifying challenges, and influencing resolutions with innovative thinking and a positive mindset.
What we’re looking for:

Must-haves:

  • 6+ years of actuarial experience with FSA designation or ASA designation with additional years actuarial experience
  • Experience with annuity products with guaranteed benefits, particularly fixed indexed and registered index-linked annuities
  • Understanding of regulatory/accounting/capital frameworks (STAT/GAAP/Tax, RBC, EC)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter with demonstrated capability to quickly learn new concepts
  • Ability to think critically, identify, and solve potential challenges
  • Priority setting, time management, and organizational skills

Nice-to-haves:

  • Actuarial modeling and/or valuation experience, preferably in MG-ALFA and GGY AXIS
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g. – Dataiku, Tableau)
  • Competency with R, Python, SQL, and/or Excel VBA
  • Familiarity with modern data science approaches

Pay Range: $102,301 - $184,500

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
