Job Description About This Role As Biogen is poised for tremendous growth, the Operations Systems Improvement (OSI) team is chartered to build a strong continuous improvement culture to drive increased efficiency and productivity, reduce costs and improve quality and safety across PO&T (Pharmaceutical Operations and Technology). As Director / Associate Director Continuous Improvement, you will be part of a dynamic team driving continuous improvement projects across internal and external manufacturing, quality, supply chain, RegCMC and building the lean and continuous improvement culture within PO&T. The CI Leader is a change agent responsible for building a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing the effectiveness of business processes, developing and executing action plans to reduce costs, eliminating waste, streamlining processes, and enhancing overall customer experience. Strong project leadership and teaching skills are required as the role will be responsible for facilitating kaizens and value stream mapping activities involving groups unfamiliar with Lean tools. You will influence and motivate project teams involving multiple departments and locations. This position will manage multiple enterprise CI projects from project definition through sustainment of improvements. What You’ll Do Champion Company’s continuous improvement process and make it a sustained core part of the culture. Identify and implement enterprise-wide process improvement activities utilizing LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies to support business objectives and annual financial goals/targets. Teach and mentor others in Lean/Six Sigma methodology, ensuring the deployment, development, and ongoing sustainment of process/performance excellence at site locations. Facilitate cross functional improvement teams following DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze Improve Control) roadmap or similar improvement process. Provide reporting to leadership and other stakeholders on process/performance excellence progress and results. Apply statistical analysis to determine the relationships between key inputs and process outputs. Implement controls to sustain gains/improvements. Provide leadership and project management in support of improvement initiatives as assigned Qualifications Who You Are You have a passion and a proven track record of implementing and driving lean and continuous improvement projects / programs within regulated industries Biotech, Pharma. You like challenges and are willing to roll up your sleeves and work with cross-functional teams to drive projects and have a strong focus on execution and results. Required Skills Associate Director Master’s in industrial engineering or any Engineering discipline Master Black Belt or Black Belt or Lean Master Certification 10+ to 12 years of Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or similar highly regulated industry including experience in operations with engagement in Operational and Business support functions Experience with change management and ability to influence across various levels within the organization to drive changes and improvement Strong project management skills in a cross functional environment Director Master’s in industrial engineering or any Engineering discipline Master Black Belt or Black Belt or Lean Master Certification 12+ years of Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or similar highly regulated industry including experience in operations with engagement in Operational and Business support functions Experience with change management and ability to influence across various levels within the organization to drive changes and improvement Strong project management skills in a cross functional environment Preferred Skills PMP certification Experience in biotech/pharma CI manufacturing projects Additional Information Why Biogen?
