R&D Assistant - Ekaterra - Temporal
Background & Purpose of the Job
Tea and Herbal Beverages is a fun, fast paced category which covers many products formats under many leading brands such as Lipton, McColin´s and Red Rose. Ekaterra, a newly formed company, is undergoing a full systems and data separation from its previous owner (Unilever) to a standalone business. This role is about supporting the transition of R&D systems and data as well as supporting the execution of the product agenda within the LATAM Beverages program.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
You will be reporting to an R&D manager and be part of a team setting up new software and systems. You will be heavily involved in data management, helping various workstreams including Data transfer, Data validation and Data integrity checks as well as user acceptance testing on new software. In addition, you will be accountable for supporting the deploy of innovations, qualifying alternate sourcing of packaging materials, specification writing, and implementing cost savings initiatives. The role includes building a strong partnership with the extended R&D team as well as internal business partners, working closely with TPLs, Data and Digital, regulatory, quality, brand and supply chain teams. This role presents an exciting 12 month opportunity for someone passionate about beverages, the consumer goods industry and working on iconic brands.
You’re a passionate developer: You are passionate about packaging, product development and are able to support the delivering of new products including costing, specification creation and product testing protocols. You possess sound basic knowledge of technical measurements and research methods and are able to analyze and interpret technical data, enjoy problem-solving and the R&D environment. You are a team player and are able to build strong relationships and participate actively within cross-functional teams. You are agile in fast paced environments and are easily able to reprioritize against changing targets.
You’re data oriented and digitally savvy:
You have excellent computer proficiency and are able to operate, or quickly learn to do
so, Product Lifecycle Management platforms.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
• Food Engineer/Civil Industrial Engineer
• at least 2 years of experience in R&D, with packaging knowledge in a Food company. A combination of work experience and education will be considered.
• Possess good technical knowledge of packaging functionality and processing.
• Strong digital proficiency
• PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), and other related specification systems is a strong requirement
• Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills within cross-functional teams and with outside customers.
• Excellent project management, organizational skills, multi-tasking, and quick learning will enable success in this role.
