The Associate Director serves as site lead and is responsible for overseeing the operations of the pharmacy and implementation of pharmacy initiatives. This includes ensuring the performance of pharmacy operations staff through service delivery, customer service, and operational efficiencies. The Associate Director will ensure there is effective workflow management in the high fast past environment, collaboration and oversight of complex inventory management requirements, has direct supervision of pharmacists and performs all pharmacists' tasks as required. ensures compliance with all applicable program guidelines; performs related duties as required. The Associate Director serves in a supportive role to the Account Director to deliver against client expectations by collaborating with leads from other functional areas such as training, resource and performance management and quality.

. Essential Job Duties:

  • Guide LRX staff to ensure effective pharmacy operations and service delivery. Ensure implementation of workflow strategies for all programs and products.
  • Oversee operations of inventory management, dispensing quality, and regulatory compliance. Work with PIC to identify trends, develop strategies and implement improvements as needed.
  • Partner with cross-functional groups to guide the execution of process improvements for programs. Identify and implement process improvements to resolve budget issues, maintain appropriate contribution margins (CMs) and drive efficiency.
  • Ensure that programs are meeting established customer service and quality standards.
  • Ensure productivity targets are met by pharmacy staff. Identify trends and develop remediation plans as needed.
  • Champion efforts to support the professional growth of Managers, Supervisors and Leads/Associates. Help develop their skills needed to perform optimally and to sustain professional success. Assess job performance and provide regular feedback.
  • Serve as a coach for improving skills related to people management, operational strategy and issue resolution. Enhance employee morale, promote positive employee relations and create a positive culture within the business. As appropriate, serve as a mentor to other management and junior operations staff.
  • Manage programs for profitability in coordination with other groups to ensure that financial and operational targets are met and that evolving client needs are identified and addressed.
  • Monitor volume and delivery trends to ensure consistent delivery and staffing levels are in place.
  • Maintains pharmacological and regulatory knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Interacts with clients as appropriate related to operational process reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required:

The Associate Director has extensive experience at LRX or similar environment managing operations and staff of specialty pharmacy. Typically has seven or more years of relevant experience in specialty pharmacy (preferred) or retail pharmacy with direct responsibility in multiple stores or locations.

The Associate Director should have:

  • Managing multiple workflows in high volume settings
  • Inventory management, reconciliation and reporting; large scale multiple parties
  • Knowledge in FDA Health Regulations, Pharmacology, Managing Processes, Legal Compliance
  • Strong oral communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Highly effective time management skills and excellent ability to prioritize
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Ability to motivate and lead people
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills including negotiation skills and the ability to work independently as well as provide leadership in a team-based environment
  • Good judgement in managing client, project, or personnel issues
  • Have analytical and problem-solving skills, solution oriented
  • Ability to work effectively through influence and collaboration
  • Manage multiple projects, tasks and staff members
  • Be able to adapt to and work with ambiguity
  • Strong knowledge of business protocols, financials and acumen
  • Strong understanding of the contact center database and reports
  • Advanced level of computer skills and the ability to navigate between programs and web sites.
  • Forecasting and trending; ability to create projections

Minimum Required:

The Associate Director must have a Bachelors in Science Pharmacy degree, with a Pharm.D. degree preferred. The Pharmacy Manager must possess a current and valid Pharmacist state license, in good standing. Multiple state licenses preferred, with the ability to add licenses in additional states as business need requires.

Must have the ability and willing to be licensed in other states as business requires

Working Conditions:

The Associate Director will work under normal pharmacy operations conditions. The Associate Director must be able to work extended hours as necessary to meet program needs and project schedules
