Labcorp Genetics and Women’s Health division has an opening for a Remote Based Supervisor of the Genetic Counseling Assistants (GCA) to join their team! This position will support the Results Reporting Program that provides results to patients through phone calls (traditional RR) or through our digital genetic assistant (DGA).

The schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm eastern time zone. Candidates can be located anywhere in the US, however must be able to work eastern time zone hours.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with Senior GC Manager, create protocols and best practices for the functions of the GCAs:
    • Obtain and distribute results to genetic counselors daily for reporting to patients
    • Ensure genetic counseling summary reports are sent to referring providers
    • Track partner test results for appropriate clients
    • Communicate with clients to obtain pertinent demographic information regarding patients and provide updates on status of unsuccessful attempts to reach patients
    • Create patient links, register patients, and upload patient results into the DGA
    • Database/log maintenance
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor employees
  • Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations
  • Research and resolve work flow errors while escalating when necessary
  • Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing levels
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance of SOPs

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in the healthcare industry required, with 3+ years' experience in a laboratory or clinical genetics setting preferred
  • Familiarity with genetic concepts highly desired
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required, particularly Excel
  • Comfortable working within multiple IT systems
  • Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectively
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others and work cooperatively and effectively to set goals, resolve problems and make recommendations
