Background & Purpose of the Job

The Category Performance Manager holds a pivotal role within the CCD organization, influencing immediate in year results as well as driving achievement of the longer-term category strategy. As a key business partner to the category Leadership team, the Category Performance Manager is a proactive contributor to the S&OP forecast.

The Category Performance Manager’s responsibility within S&OP is focused on collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver an unbiased, accurate forecast in the monthly call (remainder of inputs to be delivered by Demand Planning and Marketing). 70% of the Category Performance Manager’s time should be spent in partnership to the CS&P Team Leads across Personal Care finding ways to grow the categories in a strategically sustainable way.

The Category Performance Manager is a key business partner to the CCBT VP providing insights from the forecast and identifying future challenges/changes within the business. He/she analyzes information received from cross functional business partners, along with trends and business drivers he/she has identified to deliver the monthly forecast. This role represents the customer in core organizational processes including S&OP, IBP/IPM & NRM. This position reports into the CS&P Lead for Skin Cleansing.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Assist Team Lead in development of the holistic category channel strategy
  • Derive insights from ongoing analyses to recommend actions to field teams and CS&P managers
  • Champion for key strategic category growth initiatives
  • Provide data analytics and story-telling on opportunities within the categories
  • Partner with Trade Analytics to advise CS&P managers on appropriate marketplace pricing and ROI improvements
  • Responsible for Innovation Handshake management at a category level providing analysis based on field/brand inputs
  • Be a key participant in the monthly S&OP process
  • Management of periodic gap closing activities
  • Act as advisor to the CS&P Managers on execution of “6 P’s”
  • Key liaison to leadership in Supply Chain, Finance, and Brand
  • Provide inputs to Marketing Operations for BMP and Brand Innovations for the IPM process
  • Provide input into Division-level category investment plan (incl. trade budgeting and target setting)
  • Create and maintain national customer investment guidelines
  • Own incremental trade funding process
  • Has strong communication and organizational skills.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer goods and sales/customer development
  • Strong understanding of customer operations and channel drivers
  • Holistic business thinking with clear evidence of addressing business challenges and delivery

The pay range for this position is $96,000 to $143,900. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
