Associate Scientist- Skin Care
Background & Purpose of the Job
This position is in the Skin Care New Frontiers R&D Design team based in Trumbull Connecticut. The New Frontiers Design team is responsible for implementing Innovations into our local Brands at Country Levels, supporting local R&D Teams from our Global design center in Trumbull. These brands tend to be digital first, they are on trend, and rely on Speed to market. They are digitally savvy and maintain strong presence on social media. Success working in R&D's New Frontiers Design team requires in addition to Skin Care formulation skills, an engaged social media mindset, a curiosity and willingness to track, develop, and translate trends into Consumer loving products and insights. The New Frontiers Design team is also responsible for supporting our Global Skin Care Category Design programs.
The candidate will be responsible for prototyping and formulation activities related to new product launches, including working with internal R&D teams, Marketing, CTI/Claims, Procurement, Supply Chain, external suppliers, and Country team counterparts.
You will use a fundamental understanding of formulation and processing principles and have a “hands-on” approach to prototyping and laboratory scale-up activities. You will translate product benefits into consumer relevant visualizations and demonstrations. You will lead capability build projects, such as in-silico predictive modelling, concentrates, complex technologies, Competitor benchmarking, and new formats development. Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Manage Skin Care, R&D product/formula development responsibilities.
Manage and implement Prototyping activities, Stability and Safety Clearance systems and testing, initiate appropriate regulatory compliance activities for your projects, initiate applicable clinical support when required and conduct claims support testing activities.
You will interact with Suppliers and Co-Packers, internal and extended team members. Since this is Global role, you are Agile and flexible with your work schedules to accommodate meetings with counterparts in other regions.
Provide inputs to Team documents as required.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelor's Degree required, Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry.
1+ year of experience in R&D (Beauty & Personal Care category preferred)
Self-starter with ability to think on your feet and flexibility to adapt to different scenarios.
Work Level 1A: Pay: The pay range for this position is $53,200 to $79,700. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible. Benefits: Unilever employees are eligible to participate in our benefits plan.
