Integrated Oncology, a LabCorp Specialty Testing Group, provides reference anatomic pathology, hematopathology and molecular pathology testing services to hospitals, health systems and independent oncology practices. Integrated Oncology is focused on providing world class solutions to better the lives of patients living with cancer.

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 2:00pm-10:30pm

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine high complexity analyses and interpretations of flow cytometry dot plots in the testing of leukemia/lymphoma specimens.

  • Properly performs and documents quality assurance, quality control.

  • Properly prioritizes samples according to policy.

  • Operates equipment as needed to complete testing.

  • Sample preparation performed as needed.

  • Adheres to all safety, quality control and documentation policies.

  • Recognizes problems that may adversely affect patient care and takes appropriate action.

  • Participates in required Continuing Education activities.

  • Serves as an example and resource to other testing laboratory personnel.

  • Assists in training of personnel.

  • Shows willingness to perform duties until they are complete.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Biology or related life science (or the completion of 16 credit hours of Biology, 16 credit hours of Chemistry, and 3 credit hours of math) are required

  • Candidate must possess or be eligible for ASCP certification in one of the following disciplines: MT, MLS, CLS or SCYM. The ASCP certification exam must be passed before hire date.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Flow Cytometry is preferred

  • Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus

  • Expertise in data analysis is preferred along with basic knowledge of wet lab duties and instrument troubleshooting.

  • The Analyst should be able to recognize normal populations from abnormal, aberrant, or unexpected populations and perform basic level of result interpretations.
