The Vice President, Medical Team Head, Cardiovascular and Metabolism is responsible for leading the Medical strategy for the therapeutic area and advancing clinical care through building external strategic partnerships ambitious Medical planning and tactical execution. This is an organizational leader who will drive innovation and change within their therapeutic area and across the Medical organization, while exemplifying the Inspired, Curious, and Unbossed culture of Novartis.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Lead and Execute Medical Strategy - Lead US Medical strategy for the therapeutic area, including marketed products, pre-launch products, and Life Cycle Management (LCM) indications. Develop and implement effective communication strategies for HCP education. Serve as the voice of the therapeutic area to senior leadership, in US and Global cross-functional leadership forums, and to key external stakeholders. Ensure high-quality, timely execution and effective resource and budget management.
•Shape the Healthcare Landscape/Regulatory Interactions Identify barriers to optimal patient care and address by developing partnerships with Systems of Care (SoCs), Academic Medical Centers, HCPs, Professional Societies, and other key external stakeholders. Support interactions with FDA, including playing leadership role in benefit/risk discussions and label negotiations.
•Support Access to Innovation - In close partnership with HE&OR, co-develop the strategy to address Payer/SoC needs for compelling health outcomes and real-world evidence (RWE) to support reimbursement/access for patients. Provide input into Clinical Development pro-grams to facilitate successful patient access and clinical utilization in the US. Co-own ac-countability for attaining US recruitment targets in Clinical Development programs.
•Expand the Portfolio - Serve as the primary US Medical point of contact for near-term Business Development & Licensing opportunities in the therapeutic area. Partner and align with New Products on longer-term BD&L opportunities, as well as on US commercialization needs for New Products.
•Lead Across the Enterprise and Partner Across Functions Lead across the enterprise through cross-therapeutic area role on the US CDMA Leadership Team. Collaborate effectively across Medical and with other functions such as Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Commercial to achieve key business objectives and improve patient care.
