As a Director-Product Owner, Compute/CaaS you will lead activities at management level across the Compute and Container products, driving the strategies and decision making to support business initiatives.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…

  • Apply hardware design theories and principles, perform complex work in research, design and development of new or existing products, tools and processes required for the operation, maintenance and testing of products.

  • Seek out emerging and established hosting industry trends, and makes proposals on changes, enhancements, and replacements of our existing identity tools through detailed analysis, proof of concepts and product comparisons.

  • Manage infrastructure procurement, budgeting, forecasting, consumption, and optimize usage and correlate cost to business value.

  • Lead a team of high performing individuals who create Compute/Container products to meet current and future needs for GSK. While providing both local and remote management and leadership.

  • Interface and ensure alignment with other Core Tech teams on emerging technologies for compute and container products.

  • Deliver the target architecture and engineering for the Compute and Container products to be consumed globally by GSK.

  • Transform the IT operations team from a ticket-based organization to an intelligence operations team implementing ML/AI with the internal team and strategic supplier.

  • Provide leadership, direction and mentorship to Compute staff in the delivery of Architectural roadmap for Hosting solutions, ensuring fit-for-purpose, best-in-class, and currency.

  • Oversee the delivery and engineering of Compute/Container Products, ensuring that designs are scalable, resilient, extensible and secure.

  • Ensure industry best practice is being followed for GSK's hosting, and regular health checks are being performed to ensure we are responding to any changes in the regulatory landscape and emerging security threats.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computers, or equivalent technical qualification with relevant experience in Hosting Infrastructure.

  • 10+ years of Compute/Hosting infrastructure Engineering and Delivery experience.

  • 5+ years in a role with proven success in running large compute teams supporting applications hosting.

  • Previous demonstratable excellent relationship building and communication skills.

  • Proven experience with developing leaders and staff to be a high functioning team.

  • 3 years of experience in developing Cloud based solutions, preferably in Azure and GCP- 3-5.

  • 5 years of experience with Linux, Windows and Unix Operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/Master's Degree-Computer Science/Software Engineering.

  • Prior experience in successfully delivering enterprise programs across functional IT Teams.

  • Broad understanding of application hosting services including but not limited to Compute, Storage/Backup, Database, Networking.

  • 2 years’ experience in working in Agile ways of working.
