This position lies within the Enterprise Data & Machine Learning team. The EDML team focuses on data and ML platform design and development aimed at improving the productivity and efficacy of thousands of fellow data scientists and engineers throughout the organization. This foundation will facilitate hundreds of millions of ML enabled member and consumer touchpoints. Our work is ambitious and far reaching with the potential to become a new internal standard, an OSS project, or differentiating intellectual prop.

Role Responsibilities:

Regularly works to improve solution performance; designs and implements changes independently to improve results.

Thinks through strategic goals of A&BC/CVSH and how products fit within the strategy; advocates for product vision to business counterparts and serves as trusted advisor.

Maintains working relationship with business domains to determine if business needs are being met and tracks trends in usage for resourcing purposes.

Leads market research for associated A&BC vertical; presents findings to A&BC and broader CVSH leadership; influences key stakeholders on strategic product decisions.

Conducts feasibility studies to outline risks and issues associated with analytics solutions; escalates risks/benefits to thought leaders for further consideration before going forward with strategy improvements; coordinates with business leads to develop buy-in to analytics strategy from key players.

Leads and provides overall direction for creating team’s goals and metrics; determines unique metrics and goals for each role as well as for the overall team and project.

Considers the overall organizational talent needs within A&BC and proactively thinks about recruiting within the broader CVSH landscape for analytics, data science, and data engineering talent; regularly conducts interviews with candidates.

Leads a team to achieve business goals; coaches each team member to ensure their professional goals are being met; provides developmental opportunities to team members on a regular basis.

Able to synthesize feedback to introduce new business opportunities, consistently provides recommendations based on analytics best practices.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 140,000
Maximum: 280,000

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in product management.

4+ years of experience in product management specifically oriented around data, BI, ML, analytics, or engineering products.

4+ years of experience evangelizing and driving consensus around the value/impact of a given product to technical and non-technical audiences.

2+ years or experience managing direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications
Has a thorough understanding of the end-to-end data science lifecycle/workflow.

Well-versed in the modern ML and data stack solution space.

Capable of doing independent product/market research (e.g., engaging in exploratory conversations with solution vendors/product managers, attending relevant industry conferences, and keeping up to date on product release notes).

Well-versed in analogous service offerings from major cloud providers (e.g., GCP, AWS, and Azure).

Plugged into the OSS community (e.g., familiar with or tracking various OSS projects).

Familiarity with GCP, Vertex-AI, and the PyData ecosystem.

Education
Undergraduate degree required.

Graduate degree preferred.

Preference given to candidates with degrees and credentials in agile, technical writing, product management, data, and analytics related fields.
