We are currently seeking a Senior Facilities Technician. Reporting to the Associate Director, Facilities you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks for general, utility and lab areas as well as other duties as requested.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee operation of Johnson Controls Metasys BMS system.

  • Provide subject matter expertise for MEP systems (RODI, WFI systems, HVAC, Compressed Gasses, etc.).

  • Perform reactive and preventative maintenance as appropriate on MEP systems.

  • Coordinate external contractors for on-site repairs.

  • Perform preventive maintenance to include mobilization of tools, equipment, and materials; performing work with minimal disruption to occupants; properly maintaining required documentation, conducting immediate cleanup of work area including returning tools to workshop .

  • Assist the facilities team in identifying the maintenance objectives of the facility and incorporate those objectives into a documented plan that includes preventive, corrective, and reliability maintenance procedures.

  • Respond, evaluate, and document critical equipment alarms.

  • Monitor and communicate lab gas manifold levels for ordering purposes.

  • Review and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.

  • Conduct daily inspection rounds and ensure the facilities utilities and space are in optimum condition.

  • Coordinate with vendors to procure vendor/contract prices for mechanical parts, equipment, and tools.

  • Maintain site cleanliness and overall appearance through routine inspection and CM/PM maintenance

  • Provide on-call support as needed and work overtime when required.

Basic qualifications:

  • Experience in working with mechanical HVAC, building controls etc

  • Critical understanding of the importance of documentation & data traceability

  • Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.

  • Familiarity with executing SOP’s in a manufacturing or Life Sciences environment preferred.

  • Skilled and physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment.

  • Prior experience in a biotech/lab or GMP environment preferred.

  • OSHA-10 or more preferred.

  • Strong computer and organizational skills.

  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.

  • The ability to lift 70 pounds.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Licensed HVAC preferred.
