Specimen Accessioner- 2nd shift

What to Expect

  • Prepares laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

  • Spinning samples, pouring urine tubes and creating frozen samples

  • Unpacks and routes specimens to their respective staging areas

  • Accurately Identify and label specimens

  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities

  • Properly prepares and stores excess specimen samples

  • Process all necessary paperwork to process and submit specimens

  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

  • Resolves and document any problem specimens

  • Perform audits in order to resolve any outstanding issues

  • Picking up and delivering samples to clients/hospitals

  • Have customer service experience in order to interact with clients respectfully as needed

  • Serves as a liaison between LabCorp branches or regional laboratories and its customers in response to inquiries and problems up from prior to samples being sent to laboratory for testing

  • Follow up with client providing them with resolutions of issues discovered by the laboratory after business hours


Monday - Friday (6:00 pm - 2:30 am) and alternating weekends

The pay range for this position is $15.00 to $25.76. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(K), ESPP, Paid time off (PTO) or Flexible time off (FTO), Company bonus where applicable.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 1 year of medical/clinical laboratory experience

  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens

  • Ability to accurately identify specimens

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • Strong data entry and organizational skills

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
