ViiV Healthcare was created in 2009 with an ambition of launching a “best in class” integrase inhibitor, maximizing value of existing HIV products and allowing acute company focus on developing initiatives, compounds and access that would advance the care and treatment of HIV. Since that time, the successful launches of 4 Dolutegravir-based products have increased internal and external stakeholder demand for Medical Affairs support to ensure appropriate use of and access to our products as well as to serve as an educational resource.

In addition, there is consistent progression of research on ViiV Healthcare compounds to address data gaps that exist for Dolutegravir and our newer compounds, which includes advancing cabotegravir clinical development for both HIV treatment and prevention. The NA Medical Affairs team continues to play a significant role in ensuring capable sites are identified and selected, researchers are properly educated and informed, and studies progress in timely manner.

Additionally, HIV therapy is now being actively managed by many players and this has elevated the need to provide HIV clinical and research information to formulary decision makers and payers groups, increasing demand for Medical Affairs partnership.

There is a critical need now to enhance the medical and scientific leadership capability to effectively and credibly exchange high quality medical and scientific information about ViiV products and the disease area with our customers. Without this, we will not be able to deliver on our promises to patients or to our shareholders and become industry-leading.

The Senior Director, Insights & Analytics, US will oversee the planning and execution of commercial analytics, market research, data strategy, and operations for all in-line and pipeline brands. Additionally, the Sr. Director will identify critical national, regional and customer-level insight needs and drive optimal decision-making related to brand strategy execution & performance management, marketing campaign design & optimization, sales structure/capabilities and field execution initiatives. This position reports into the Head of US Strategic Operations. This role will lead a team of 21 with five direct reports including, Data Strategy & Operations, Advanced Analytics, Market Research, Market Access and Patient Access Analytics, and Business Intelligence.

Overseeing the planning and execution of commercial analytics and market research for all in-line and pipeline brands, the leader will be at the hub of operations for the company and will generate differentiated insight needed to advance the performance of our innovation portfolio. The Senior Director, Insights & Analytics will arm executive leadership with the knowledge and foresight required to win in this time of great opportunity. He/she will be strategic in approach, and will personify the values of ViiV in everything they do. He/she will innate come with an understanding of the underlying story behind the data, and be able to translate that with ease to the company leadership team in US. The position covers the ViiV portfolio of products to treat and prevent HIV. The Sr Director will be a key strategic partner for the brand, channel teams as well as forecast and finance to provide insights into what is happening today, what is the long-term impact of our actions and can we optimize our investments to win. The person must be driven with an enterprising and relentless how-to curiosity about Improve the way things are done, with a constant focus on our internal and external Customers and market. He/she will develop his/her team to generate rigorous and practical data for business needs, along with the insight required to differentiate ViiV’s offering in the market. He/she must also be confident in their as a presentation to the North America Leadership Team, earning the place trusted advisor for decision makers.

The Senior Director, Insights & Analytics will be passionate about making a positive Impact on how HIV is treated by thinking differently, acting differently and connecting differently. Working closely with key functional leadership in the VIV North America organization, he/she will equip the business with the data translated with the deep insight required to accelerate the way that ViiV’s innovative products get to the patients that need them.

The Senior Director, Insights and Analytics will hold a critical role at the center of the ViiV Healthcare US organization. Central to the planning and successful execution of ViiV Healthcare's recent product launches in HIV treatment and HIV Prevention (PrEP) markets will be fresh and differentiated insights into the market, to allow the company to anticipate trends and to lead in the effort to meet the needs of patients. This leader will advance the capabilities of the Insights & Analytics team to meet the growing demands for confident and precise forecasting, market research and business intelligence to drive the business forward.

This role will provide/gives YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…

  • Oversee the delivery of weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports and trackers. Ensure that data strategy and delivery is translated into a clear concise manner that informs operational insights for presentation and engagement with key stakeholders including US leadership, brand and channel teams highlighting the underlying trends and signals that fuel the deeper understanding of our customers, market and performance
  • Ensure the design and execution of the advanced and performance analytics teams are robust and comprehensive for each brand; the plans must inform short and long term decision-making in the commercial organization including what is happening today, what is the longitudinal impact or our investments and how can we optimize investments
  • Ensure that the Market Research operating plan brings in the voice of the customer to guide our brand strategy including customer targeting, product positioning, promotional campaigns, and evolution of tactics
  • Lead Data Strategy and Operations Department team guiding the delivery of data integration, and analytics/reporting tools for the commercial business
  • Ensure that we are adopting best-practices in communicating data and insights using narrative and visualization that is understandable to key organizational stakeholders
  • Ensure that ViiV Insights and Analytics teams are adopting contemporary and appropriate analytic practices and tools including advanced analytic techniques such as machine learning, predictive analytics as well as driving for efficiency to automate analyses and reporting
  • Gain trust as an advisor for the North America Leadership Team in the area of insights and analytics, presenting with confidence and courage to recommend.
  • Lead development planning for the Insights & Analytics team, creating tailored approaches for each member to advance capabilities and define succession plans. Recruit and retain exceptional people. Foster diversity and develop staff through coaching, training, and leadership opportunities. Encourage attainment of challenging goals. Cultivate professional growth through performance reviews, development plans, and coaching. Instill environment of mutual value, empathy, dignity, and respect.
  • Build effective matrix relationships and alignment between Insights & Analytics and other key business partners such as Finance, Marketing, Payer, Sales, Legal, IT, HR, manufacturing, etc. to deliver commercial objectives

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • BS/BA & 10 plus years of pharma experience including quantitative research/analysis methods, commercial analysis (market research, marketing & sales analytics, sales operations, and forecasting).
  • Experience translating data into differentiated insights and actionable business recommendations ready for presentation to senior leadership
  • 5 plus years of Leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:
