Sr. Associate Microbiologist

GSK is currently looking for a Sr. Associate Microbiologist in Rockville, MD to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide routine QC Microbiology laboratory support, with the purpose of meeting daily routine requirements as well as achieving goals established by the team lead and/or manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completes daily assigned routine tasks timely and accurately (may include collection and/or testing of GMP samples, reporting of data, general lab housekeeping)
- Paperwork review, data entry, filing, etc.
- Generation of data reports and/or trends
- Serves on team projects in the role of testing support, as needed
- Provides training to staff
- Identifies areas for improvement or gaps
- Effectively communicates issues/hurdles to team lead and/or manager
- Occasional holiday and weekend work may be required
- Effectively communicates issues/hurdles to supervisor and/or manager
- Supports GSK site initiatives and departmental goals
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- BA/BS in Science field
- Minimum of 2 years industrial experience in biopharmaceutical industry, such as Microbiology, Biology, or related field experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Ability to work in team environment
- Knowledge of lab equipment use and laboratory information systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with SAP ERP data management.
